Wellstar MCG Health Medical Center

I went for a sleep study. It was a large room, with bathroom and full size tub and shower. It was very clean. They were under construction so it was a little difficult to find the entrance. The facility is very secure. My only complaint is that the helicopter landing pad was right outside my window.

I’m an RN of 11 years and my FIL recently had a kidney removed at your facility. He was moved to a room on 4South at 1pm. No nurse, tech or anyone came to see him until 2:10pm. When the nurse did come in we were informed no one even told her a patient was in this room. So he was not seen by anyone for over an hour after surgery. Thank God family was with him. The patient could have had a complication or been dead from surgery and no one would have even known. And to make matters worse the AC in his room wasn’t working and it was 80 degrees in the room. As a nurse I have never given or received such horrible care.

I recently had to be seen on Labor & Delivery for an emergency, and I’m incredibly grateful for the exceptional care I received. Dr. Harper was truly wonderful—kind, compassionate, and attentive, even while juggling other, more urgent matters. She took the time to make me feel heard and cared for, which meant so much during a stressful time. Elyse, the RN who cared for me, was equally outstanding. She was not only highly skilled and professional, but also warm, reassuring, and genuinely compassionate. Her calm presence and expert care helped turn a very difficult experience into one that felt safe and manageable. Thanks to Dr. Harper, Elyse and the entire team who cared for me, I felt supported every step of the way. Dan and I are thankful for you all!

I’m extremely disappointed with my recent experience at Wellstar MCG Health Medical Center. The air conditioning in the patient room was not working, making it uncomfortable and hard to rest or recover. To make things worse, maintenance was slow to respond and didn’t seem to take the issue seriously. For a medical facility, especially one caring for people in vulnerable health situations, this is unacceptable. Patients deserve a safe, clean, and comfortable environment — and this fell far short. I hope management takes this seriously and makes immediate improvements.

I've had 2 visits to the Rheumatology doctor (resident). I am in constant pain in my back hips, knees, elbows and hands. My hands swell and become jerky throughout the day. I use a cane to get around. The doctors observed this on my first visit. Preeti Shrestha DO examined me the first time and talked with me the second time. I explained nothing has changed since my last visit. She gets the doctor to come in and examine me. The Doctor ordered X-rays of my hip area. I get the results and part of my anatomy is obstructing evaluation of the problem area. There are bone spurs in my pelvic joints. It hurts to stand or sit. I requested Preeti call me to discuss the results..... that was weeks ago and no response yet. I guess since they assume I don't have Rheumatoid arthritis my pain isn't important enough for their attention. I've lived in Augusta all my life and have purposely stayed away from this hospital and clinic. However, I was referred here and decided to give them a try. Now I can honestly say don't bother seeing this particular intern or clinic unless you've been diagnosed for certain with Rheumatoid arthritis. I remain in constant pain but I am NOT returning to this facility....and I will not recommend this facility. Wish we had the option of negative stars!!!
