One of the worst ER I have ever been in my whole life so far and I'm from NYC. I came in to the ER on Mother's Day feeling weird, not wanting to eat, drink and the light bothering me. Thought it was a migraine but whined up being meningitis and I was waiting over two hours in the ER telling everyone I didn't feel good and crying my eyes out. Staff, police lady that was there and the nurses that were taking my information just kept making me wait and walking by me like I was nothing. This was the worst experience ever. And due to my condition I felt I was getting worst, there was one nurse trying to advocate for me, I wish I knew her name, but she tried so hard to get me a room and keep me in a dark room to help me. Went through CT, MRI, X-RAY, to finally a lumbar puncture to find out it was meningitis. After being admitted to the hospital (don't remember the floor) most of the nurses there were doing their job and helping me out with my pain. The doctors that kept coming in and out my room was very concerned about my condition and how to go about it especially since my anatomy was not like any other human being. One my second to last day being hospitalized I did complain (I believe she was the manager nurse or for the floor) about the ER area bc I couldn't have died in that ER and no staff would have cared or probably looked the other way if it wasn't for that one nurse staff that was trying her best to advocate for me. I have no shame on posting or rating this bc others need to be aware of how the care here is, to be cautious and this is unacceptable especially with what I came in with. If I could do zero stars I would.

i understand that the severity of your condition is the way they call patients back , not first come first serve , but waiting from 12-6 AND still waiting to see someone is insanity , i havenβt been able to keep fluids or much of anything down for almost 24 hours (which they know) no iv , no mention of anything. most of those hours i've been sitting here waiting for them to treat me or at least acknowledge my existence. this used to be one of the best emergency departments around and its so sad to see it go downhill so quickly. the nurses are trying very hard and are all kind , but there are just some things kindness cant band aid.

This is one of the worst medical centers that I have ever encountered. I brought my wife to the ER experiencing severe pain and showing symptoms of a blood clot. Even with the nurse sitting in the corner with no other patients, it took over three hours to take the vitals. As my wife's pain continued to increase, I spoke to the admissions desk to ask when my wife could be seen. The snide remarks given by the attendant were unprofessional and out of order. While I realize that patients are seen based on severity, it is evident that this facility does not understand how to triage patients. Several patients came in with no apparent trauma, and they did not appear to be experiencing any life-threatening situations. However, they were seen within thirty minutes of arrival. Given the nature of blood clots and a family history of having them, a higher priority should be considered. Even after expressing my concerns, it took another hour to be taken back for initial screening. This is the most ineffective medical facility I have ever seen, especially considering that you have to pay for the services. Most free clinics have a better turnaround time. I will be filing a formal complaint with the local medical board. This is unacceptable for any level of patient care.

ER waiting room is SO dirty. They should have a separate waiting room for visitors who are waiting to go back with someone brought by ambulance. Blankets and trash everywhere. Who knows what this is on the ground.

I had to wait a while, but the care I received was top-notch! My nurse, Lafette, had only been there at Piedmont for 2 days. She was an experienced nurse, but had recently chosen to come to Piedmont. Considerate, caring, and friendly! My nurse practitioner, Stephanie, was wonderful! I had seen her on a previous visit when I had to get stitches. She remembered me and showed me how much she loves her job! Piedmont, you have some excellent employees who deserve so much credit and rewards!
