I love coming to this gym! The staff is always friendly, and the workout equipment is excellent . However, since having a baby, I’ve realized it’s not as family-friendly as I’d hoped. I understand there are liability concerns, but I wish there were a bit more flexibility for postpartum parents—specifically, allowing a newborn in a car seat to stay nearby while I work out. As a new mom, I’m not yet comfortable leaving my baby in someone else’s care, and having this option would help me maintain my fitness and well-being like everyone else. It would mean a lot to have more support for parents in this stage of life.

This is a wonderful facility with great classes and programs for people of all ages. Convenient location and lots of parking in a vacated community hospital. Sparkling clean with great staff and equipment.

I love this YMCA. Great classes, great gym, amazing pool, love the child care, and they are super clean. The only problem I have there is little to no childcare on the weekend. That’s when kids are out of school and parents are out of work. Why not provide these services on the weekends so parents can work out and stay active. Because of the childcare hours I’ve been thinking about not renewing my membership because why pay for it when I can only work out during the week (during lunch time and dinner time).

The Y itself is great but this one star review (really deserves a zero) is for their summer day camp. If you plan on sending your child to summer day camp here, don’t. I have personally witnessed their “leader” speaking so rudely to the children there. When I went to pick my son up, their lead teacher was screaming down the hallway at the children that they would not be allowed to go to the bathroom on top of many other times I’ve went to pick him up/drop him off and been met with hollering adults and that were personally extremely rude to my child. I went to go pick my son up and the teacher informed me they had been putting my son in the “reflection room” -every day- and that it had no air conditioning? My child completely refuses to go back because of how bad it was. This has been the most stressful experience I have ever had with any child care organization and the staff has no care with cold responses. If you aren’t good with children, why be a summer camp teacher? Communication skills are lacking bad and when trying to have my child transferred to another location or removed and speaking WITH the director about the issues occurring I was told and I quote “well I have full confidence in my staff and I’m sorry you feel that way” no consideration for the situation and no way to find a resolution for grown adults on a power trip. I am beyond disappointed as I love the YMCA Staff at this location but the choice of teachers at the summer camp is sad.

This review deserves negative numbers. All summer my son has told us different things about certain staff, food, and a room they use for punishment that has no ac. Today my husband received a call that my son had to be picked up immediately and was being thrown out for being disruptive and dangerous. Upon picking him up he shows my husband his arm which has 3 gouge marks from a workers nails. Her name is Pam and she has picked on my baby more than once. He also proceeds to tell us she punched him In the head for trying to get back into a classroom. We went directly to the McDuffie county police station and reported her. I am livid and sorry that I ever made my son go there. We trust these people to take care of our babies. Not to mention they are getting paid $150 a week to stick these kids in rooms to sit all day and families like ours with no extended family are forced to have someone watch our children so we can work. Please parents don't send your kids here. I am sorry I sent mine. Nobody had the right touch my child or anyone elses. There are multiple issues with this place. They don't feed the kids the meals they say and they don't take them to do anything. Please heed this warning.
