The Clearing Savannah Rapids

This place was amazing with beautiful landscapes.... great for exercise or mental break. I absolutely enjoyed every minute of the nature trail. Highly recommended for families. Includes but not limited to biking, running, kayaking, walking, picnic areas, restrooms strategically placed. I definitely plan to come back.

The clearing is a quiet little spot. There were a few other people there relaxing under the shade of the many trees there, amazing views of the Savannah River to the South Carolina border. There is a bathroom located right there as well. The walk to get here is very easy, pretty much flat all the way and easy to access with bicycles. {Park your car at Eisenhower Park, then walk across the Augusta Canal Bridge to get on the path} We saw a lot of people kayaking on the Canal and riding bicycles!

Beautiful place! Very serene out here. Nice quick stop from walking the trail if you want to sit on the bench and just enjoy the view.

Great kayak launch site for the canal or even better the shoals of the Savannah river. Ride them all the way down to Hammonds Ferry boat ramp in North Augusta. Always a great day trip, just make sure the river level is up or you're in for quite a bumpy ride snaking around the rocks. Love this trip and we try to do this one at Least once every couple months. Always a treat. This park is also great for families ,beautiful scenary. Must see if in Augusta or North Augusta.

Beautiful and quiet field along the side of the savannah river. The elevation is much closer to the level of the river. There is a bathroom. It’s about 2.5 miles from Savannah rapids park.
