Teresa's Mexican Restaurant

I've been frequenting Teresa's for a couple of years and on my last visit (Thanksgiving week 2014) things were not good. I really feel like I should be downgrading this place to 2-2.5 stars (from 4 stars) but I'll give the benefit of the doubt and rate it 3. I *suspect* there has been an ownership change recently (past 6 months???) as the usual wait staff is no longer present. More importantly, the portions have been reduced to approximately 1\2-2\3 their previous size (for the same price). During my recent Thanksgiving week visit the service was poor (waitress had to come back and ask our order a second time because she didn't write it down the first time, no refills, no follow-up to see if we had everything) and the steak was dry and overcooked; during past visits I felt the food was consistently good. Used to be a consistently good place but things have changed for the worse...bummer.

The decor I fight with. The outside deck is awesome especially with the water misters knocking down the heat. The inside I do not care for because it can feel a bit corny with how it is decorated but at least you don't feel shoehorned in like some other places. Their quality of food is as good as any other mexican restaurant I have been to but their food prices seem to be a little cheaper. Now if you plan on having a drink with your meal, they cream everyone with their beer and margarita prices. $6 for a pitcher of beer!

The food is good, the margaritas are good. However the place is infested with cockroaches. I went outside for a quick smoke and one crawled up my arm. There was also several in the restaurant. I have a huge fear of them but if they don't bother you then have at it. Me, I'm done for that reason alone

Beautiful people, wonderful service and relaxing atmosphere. What I dislike is the Washington Rd traffic which is why I miss the North Augusta location- it has always been around the corner especially when chicken soup was in order to soothe an ill soul or a long day at work. It is the people that create the positive atmosphere and make the drive worthwhile when we are able to come.

Tereasa's has a great patio for party's. The food is great. Bring family for delicious food. Great graduation party place. Kids love the fountain. Drinks are tasty. Servers are quick and courteous. The servings are plenty.
