I boarded my new pup here for 4 nights. I was instructed over the phone when I made the booking that cash up front is required- no cards are accepted. All fine- dropped off my pup with his food and his bed and a couple of toys. The two employees there were very nice but I did notice that they were quite young- probably teenagers. Four days later when I came to pick him up, I noticed immediately he had a very strong odor of urine. I just wanted to get him home to bathe him so I asked a third employee (also a teenager) for the dog bed and toys so I could go. He said that there was no bed in his cage and that he hadn’t seen a bed in there the whole time. This was concerning. He looked around and tried making a phone call with no luck. I said I’d give them a day and check back about the bed. They located the bed and I picked it up the next day- and it had the same awful urine smell. I’ve washed it twice and am going to have to throw it out. It’s too stinky. I understand that dogs have accidents- but I tend to think that he must’ve spent much of his time there urine soaked with no bed. On a positive note, he was well fed and he wasn’t injured. But I don’t think I’ll use this kennel again.

This is the first and absolute last time I use Suggs Kennel. I boarded my cat for 7 days and explained when I dropped her off that she gets 1 can of fancy feast in the morning and 1 can of friskies at night. I also separated her food into 2 bags (morning and night) and wrote the feeding directions on the plastic bags. When I picked her up, all 7 cans of fancy feast were still in the bag. They only fed her ONE can of food per day the entire time she was there. I’m sure my cat was nervous and didn’t eat much the first night or two, but it’s completely unacceptable to skip morning feeds entirely. It’s quite possible they left her with rotting food to pick at all day. If she didn’t eat much at night or in the morning, I would expect the staff to throw it out and make sure she gets a new can for the next meal. I provided exactly the amount of food she needed during her stay to would ensure she had a new can for each morning and night. It’s no wonder that when we came home, she devoured an entire can of food immediately. Please do NOT board your pet here.

I have rescue dogs that are highly sensitive and even years when the main owner was there, he knew how to handle them and he handled them well now they have a young man name Marc who does an excellent job with my rescues as well. I’m grateful that they are open and they’re able to take care of my babies

Came to this place expecting it to be great. Everything seemed good until the day I went to pick up my dog. When I came, I was immediately informed right then (for the first time mind you), that the place only accepts cash. Okay, not the biggest issue, but definitely something that should have been addressed before I dropped off my dog. Second, they tell me I'm being charged 99 dollars for three days. Sorry, three days? Why? I dropped my doggo on a Friday then come and pick him up on Sunday to be charged 50% more? I spoke with the lady who scheduled me before I dropped my dog off to make sure I wouldn't be charged for three days beforehand, and she mentioned I wouldn't be as long as I picked him up by Sunday. Well, come Sunday I arrive and then they charge me the full three days. I also, mind you, had scheduled a dog bath for my buddy while I was out of town, but come back to find not only did they say he was not bathed, but also that he was never put on the schedule for one. After learning all this and coming back from the ATM on a Sunday afternoon (where some crazy woman tried to run me over as well), I decided I was not going to come back here ever again. They even had the audacity to say I could get change back (1 dollar) as I could only pull out full 20s from the bank, but I said forget it and left. I give 2 stars rather than 1 because I found out later that my doggo had actually been bathed, despite what the guy that Sunday told me.

Suggs has taken care of our dogs for the last few years and I cannot say enough great things about them. The staff are phenomenal and there is not a lot of turnover, so we know people by name every time we walk in there. Our puppies are always excited to go there and have always been treated well. On multiple occasions, they have saved us with accommodating last minute boarding and do so with a smile every time. I cannot say enough good things about how beneficial they have been for our two huskies!
