Stevens Park was the rehab facility to which the hospital sent my geriatric mother, with dementia, after an operation for a broken hip. We were told by the hospital that within 24 hours of residence we would get an evaluation. Five days later, after repeated calls, voice mails, emails and notes, we still did not get a report. I was told that there was an evaluation, but absolutely no specifics. A catheter was left in for that time and they were unaware that she had a UTI. I called the hospital and asked about the patient records sent with her and voiced my concerns. I then received a call from the director, with her staff in attendance. I frankly told them, by category, about the complete lack of communication, condescending attitude, and complete lack of information about my mother. The conversation was not pleasant and some staff were defensive and argumentative. I stated that this person is my mother, I am her advocate, legal representative and simply wanted to know her status. Two days later, they had a care plan meeting. First, nursing care here is excellent. However, it is almost impossible to reach anyone there, with the exception of their financial director who is excellent. Feedback is minimal and almost nonexistent. This is absolutely not a facility that I can or will recommend.

I've visited many times and have always left with a positive impression. Patients are happy and genuinely cared for. Staff is friendly and goes out of their way to help me find what I need. Administration is present and always actually interested in hearing what I have to say and helping me. I've observed them caring for the residents like they are their own moms and dads. You can't really say more than that about a place.

This facility needs to be shut down. My grandfather entered this facility on 06/24/21 and left on 07/09/21 due to the poor treatment he received. The staff is rude and admitted to liking to antagonizing the male patients. There were several incidents that will be reported to the state. I wouldn't bring my dog here. The laziness in which the nursing staff is allowed to display and the level of disrespect that is shown to the patients and they're families is appalling at best.

I've had a dear Friend over at Stevens Park for the past three weeks and the Service and Staff is far below being Excellent. Due to the lastest Covid Outbreak, new protocols are being enforced which I fully understand. You have to make an appointment to see the patient, which I had done. Upon arrival I was denied entry due to Administration being in an extended meeting. The staff moved slower than a snail's pace, seems they have more time to chat with each other rather taking care of visiting guests. If asked if I would recommend this facility, my answer would be a flat out ""NO""!!! I'm not sure who owns Stevens Park but if and when I do find out, Corporate will be hearing from me, along with a Well Deserved Complaint. I was thoroughly disgusted.

So far the care has been great, much better than being in a hospital medsurg floor. The PT/OT team is excellent and they actually had a meeting to discuss goals, the plans, and insurance and discharge needs. To anyone, that's especially important and not to be taken for granted. Lots of facilities never do this and the family and patient feel lost. My family member has increased movement and health from where he was 4 weeks ago and that speaks volumes. The RNs and PCAs are super excellent and so far my family member has had baths and bed changes every day almost. That being said, I only ask that a FEW PCA's and RN's stop being so defensive. It comes across rude and as a defense mechanism. We have been nothing but polite and respectful and understanding of the fact that there are many other residents. We already feel extremely powerless and helpless, and are very reliant and dependent on their care. It's unnerving already to feel this way, and extremely more depressing to feel as if a few of the staff may hate you or ignore your loved one from their demeanor. They seem to have a lot of experience and with that experience should come understanding that healthcare is frustrating for everyone involved. In any case, your loved one will be cared for here, period. Be vigilant, and visit often, because some things like bed sores, depression, and failure to thrive happen quickly and are often hard to avoid if not.
