Plays favorites- public school managed my son’s behaviors better than SOAR ever did and they only did half days with him. At one point they even made him do homeschool only and did NOT adjust our pricing. He has been much more successful at the public school and more days than not, he brings home great behavior reports. My wife even helped teach there but the way they handled him set him back years instead of helping him advance. It could be a good fit for your child, but did not work for us.

My son did well his first year. His reading improved. I thought we had found the perfect school. After the school won the Yass prize, things were down hill from there. Old teachers were leaving and new teachers were coming and were not staying long. The owner was more focused on doing things outside of the school(traveling) to get her name out there and not helping the kids in the classroom. The leadership began to slack and there was less accoubtability of the staff. The field trips became less by the second year. I stepped in to plan some field trips. The teachers began just printing worksheets off for the kids and making the kids learn the information themselves especially in Science and Math. The kids were not learning anything in science-- it was not a hands on science class. The science class was too advanced for a middle school child. The teacher was teaching all the middle schoolers and high schoolers the same curriculum for chemistry.Do not believe everything you read on the website. Please go and observe the school for yourself . Do not take your child's word for what they do on trial days. Please make sure you observe for yourself. This is suppose to be a school for neurodivergent population and none of the staff or teachers have any special education degrees in this field. My child had hard time dealing with puberty during his third year and dealing with peer pressure and negative influences from other students at the school. As a result, the school decided to put my child out without any warning -- or parent conferences by sending me an email and giving me some medical advice .Not to mention, no one at the school has any psychology psychiatric , counseling or special education degrees. You cannot give a parent any advice like this if you are not qualified. Please do your homework before you pay for this school. This may or may not be the best option for your child. The school concept for neurodivergent population is good , however the...

Soar Academy is not just an amazing school but it is the single best decision we made by enrolling our child! He is doing so well and in such a short amount of time he has had so much improvement academically as well as socially! The teachers and staff are dedicated to the children and making sure that they are receiving the best education possible and that they are happy while learning. We are PROUD to be a part of the Soar Academy Family!

My son did quite well there his first year. His reading improved, he made friends and I thought we had finally found the answer for his educational needs. We were so sure that we also enrolled my daughter. Unfortunately, it has not turned out to be what we thought and had to withdraw our kids. It's tough to narrow down exactly in a review like this, but here's a quick list of some red flags we encountered. • We were being charged 1000s of extra dollars for both my kids. One for " IEP accommodations" the other for " SOAR accommodation plan". My children received ZERO accommodations. They made a plan for my daughter and then just didn't do it. My son never even had a plan. I tried for 2 months to talk with admin about this and they dodged me. They just flaked out to each request, avoided me in carline, one day I went in person to talk and was shooed out of the building. • I also tried for 2 weeks to discuss an incident that happened with my daughter. She had a huge panic attack due to some unprofessional dealings with a member of the admin team. Again, ignored. • They did not keep proper track of my son's Ritalin, attempts to address this were ignored. • The website is very out of date and has a lot of inaccurate information. The staff listed has mostly left. For some reason their teacher turn over is very high. They do not provide many of the services the site claims they do. There is not a functioning PTO. Parents attempts to create one did not receive support from administrators. That's just a few misleading things off the website off the top of my head. • A LOT of the books and educational materials you see are out of date and the classrooms don't have much in the way of supplies. There are some wonderful teachers that spend their own money to supplement, but administration... well you're getting the idea now. The list could go on, but this review is already quite long. What it boils down to is that SOAR is not all it's cracked up to be. You're charged a lot...

Really was the BEST decision we’ve ever made for our child! They made the process of transferring from an out of county public school to them easy and successful. And we already see SIGNIFICANT signs and improvements in our child’s education and attitude towards school!
