My son suddenly began stuttering this summer after a fall at school. Mrs. Jessica and Mrs. Kirsten made accommodations and researched curriculum appropriate for his age. My 4 year old made significant improvements over the course of approximately 3months thanks to Mrs. Jessica! Savannah River Speech is a great agency with individualized support for your needs.

20/10! Savannah River Speech (SRS) and Kirsten are amazing! Kirsten has been working with our high functioning autistic son to help him develop communication and social skills that are not routinely connected with speech therapy (ST). Our son’s ability to understand AND use expressive language is continuing to grow. This will continue to help him in social situations and in ELA. SRS is also a wealth of practical information, tips, and tricks when managing with the nuances that come with neurodivergency. We are so thankful for the skill, knowledge, patience, and consistency.

Kirsten is treating my mother who is 86 and diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease and dementia. Mom started to slip into a deep depression because she had lost her words, and traditional speech therapy no longer seemed to be working. Kirsten came highly recommended as she specializes in cognitive stimulation therapy which has proven to be highly effective for people with dementia. With Kirsten’s unique technique and creativity mom has made great strides in her ability to communicate her needs and wants. Kirsten starts therapy with engaging and enjoyable activities that spark stimulation for thinking, concentration and memory. While there is no cure for Parkinson’s and the related cognitive issues that come with the disease, knowing how to stimulate a loved one so that they can formulate sentences and communicate is critical to a good quality of life. I found Kirsten to be thoughtful, respectful, patient and extremely resourceful. If we hit a roadblock Kirsten quickly starts problem solving and switches things up so we continue to make progress with mom. Kirsten communicates regularly with feedback, ideas and resources to help mom, our family and moms caregivers. I know that Kirsten is one of moms greatest supporters and is always celebrating her progress along with us. It is rare that you find someone with such a big heart that also has remarkable professional expertise and an extraordinary work ethic. We are thankful for Kristen’s expertise, professionalism, and love for her role as a speech language therapist. I highly recommend Kirsten as she goes above and beyond because she truly loves helping others.

Jessica is knowledgeable, bubbly, and wonderful with kids. She was able to teach our daughter how to correctly say her Ss in just two sessions. Our experience here has been amazing, and I would recommend Savannah River Speech to anybody with concerns about their kid’s speech!

Kirsten is an AMAZING Speech Language Pathologist and therapist! She has worked wonders with my 20 month old delayed talker, and my homeschooled 4 & 6 year old ADHD kids who have multiple phonological and learning disorders/delays. My oldest had a very negative experience at a speech clinic and had a lot of resistance and anxiety around resuming speech therapy. She took a very creative approach with him and eliminated that anxiety. Sometimes that means they are doing their work on the trampoline, or on the swings, or playing cars, or building puzzles, or using a tablet, but my kids are engaged, learning, and making HUGE strides. Kirsten is neurodiverse affirming and does exceptional work with neurodivergent children. I really appreciate that she is also continually learning in her field via additional courses and certifications. You will not find a better SLP in this area than Kirsten. She goes above and beyond for her patients.
