My mother in law was discharged to Kentwood for subacute therapy after a fall and pneumonia. She was there for 6 of the 21 days without receiving any therapy at all. The average time for her to be changed when she wet was between 45 minutes to an hour. Someone left one of her legs hanging off the bed. She attempted to call for help. She ended up having to call me because she was terrified she was going to fall out of the bed. It took about 8 minutes before someone got to her after I called. One evening she hit her call light at 8pm to be changed. She called me at 9:45 because her pressure wounds were burning so bad after sitting in urine for almost 2 hours. When I called I was told they were short staffed and something about shift change. They got in there right at 10pm to change her after I called. She did not receive a shower at all the entire time she was there, 20 days.. Not even a sponge bath. I didn’t find that out until after she was home. She come home with pressure wounds on her sacral area and severe diaper rash on her back side and entire inside thigh area. This was a very awful and traumatic experience for her.

My grandmother received surgery to insert a feeding tube she now have to eat from. She was sent here ‘Augusta University Kentwood nursing home’ for 3 weeks to receive therapy. In less than 2 weeks my grandmother grew a bedsore the size of a dollar bill, caught an infection in the incision area and had her feeding tube clogged up from lack of (if any) Postoperative care . So now my grandmother is back in the ICU, restarting the process over again, because she had to get the surgery again! This is unacceptable and very disgraceful! People I honestly don’t do reviews but I have to warn everyone who have eyes and ears! DO NOT LEAVE YOUR FAMILY MEMBERS HERE! I wouldn’t drop my worst enemy off here for any type of care! I’ve seen better care & post op treatment inside Augusta Medical Prison for prisoners then how they treat our elderly loved ones! PLEASE MY HEED MY WARNING! Sincerely, A Sad Disappointed Grandson.

I was searching for an extended care facility for my Mother (89 yrs old). After checking out reviews of the area facilities, I was horrified. I didn't want my Mother going to any of them. Not only were the reviews horrible but there were all of the restrictions /protocols for Covid we also had to deal with. Very few could visit and only once a week, by appointment only. I really tried to get her into another place. But nothing seemed to work out. I felt helpless. Although the reviews were bad and there were people advising me not to let her go to Kentwood, it was inevitable. Turns out it was a Blessing. After meeting with the staff, my mind was put at ease. They were friendly and helpful. Because new patients had to be quarantined, our only way to communicate was by cell phone. My Mother needed help with that. Staff members would help her make calls, charge her phone and help her answer it if they were in her room. What a life saver. When my Mother told me " don't worry about me, they are taking good care of me", I could tell it in her voice, they were. My thanks to all of the friendly Kentwood Staff. I apologize for the delay in my review and for the many names that I have forgotten. My Mother's stay was November 15 - December 3rd 2021. Helen, Goldie, Angel and so many more.

My dad was discharged yesterday from Kentwood. At first he thought he was going to a nursing home and he would be depressed by looking at other people his age that unfortunately don't have the health that he has. But the experience was different. He was in a private room, and the unit he was at was always clean, quiet, and smells good. The staff was always pleasant and ready to help. The food was not amazing, but way better than the hospital my dad was at. I recommend this facility to anyone that is looking for just rehabilitation.

Our 86 year old mother was found this morning lying in waste, soiled bed sheets, soiled garments on the floor. When issue was brought to the nurse station, the response was, we'll get to it in a little while. The care at this facility is weak at best and is NOT recommended, based on what we have experienced in the last 30 days. The private pay cost for this care is $240 per day. BE AWARE! Your loved ones don't deserve this treatment.
