Very pleasant & warm staff - I had Dr. Abdul for my contact appointment! 🌟 The people who work here seem to be in a good mood and are easy to talk to! The wait time was a bit long (they didn’t have as many doctors in today - and had lots of walk ins before I came) so I did have to wait about 30 minutes past my appointment (so for those who are crunched on time - just be aware of that/know that it may take longer to see you). I didn’t have any other plans for the day/I didn’t mind waiting and they are good about acknowledging the wait and thanking people for their patience. Also liked that they had two ways to check eye pressure. I tend to close my eyes with the usual one (that you put your face into/towards) - so I was glad they had the other handheld option! Usually other eye places I’ve gone to seem to only have the first option - and so I would get puffed in the eye a LOT as they struggled to get accurate reads. This was the easiest/best eye pressure test I’ve ever had at an optometrist!

Horrible customer service! Submitted a form online to request an appointment a week ago and never got any kind of confirmation. So, I called to check if it was scheduled, or not. After calling 3 times, and being put on hold for over 5 minutes every time, I finally got somebody on the phone, only to be told that according to their "system" I have cancelled 5 appointments over the past year, so they can't schedule me for.an appointment unless I go in as a walk in. I have NEVER canceled an appointment with them and have, actually, only been seen there once. The person whom I talked to on the phone wasn't willing to do anything to try to figure out why the system might be showing this. Guess I'm back to looking for a new optometrist, once again!

Got an exam here on May 31, 2024. Lost my sunglasses and tried to order a replacement pair on June 11, 2025. Couldn't do it because the prescription was written for 12 months. Called Martinez Eye Associates on May 12 to try to get the prescription extended for a few weeks so I could order replacement sunglasses. They refused, saying I would need to get another exam because 365 days is obviously COMPLETELY different than 377 days. I know there are other optometrists who write prescriptions that are good for 2 years. I'm not going here to get another exam, because my memories of their waiting room are that it's the most miserable place on Earth. Even if you have an appointment, you're going to be waiting.

If I could give ZERO stars I would! My husband was a patient last year and had a good experience however this year has been a mess. Had to wait an hour past his appointment to be seen. The doctor gave a new contacts prescription and had him try on the new contact sample and did NOT check how they fit after just gave him the contacts and that was the end. Trusting a medical professional that this was the right prescription, the contacts were ordered for 1 year supply. My husband said later in the day he felt he could not see clearly. Tried to go back multiple times to get correct prescription and it’s always a long wait (even with an appointment). Get your office together and don’t make people waste their time!! Currently waiting for a refund on the contacts with them saying it would be a “process” to get money back and then 14 days once approved. You all are quick to take the money but slow to do a refund. Will be posting an update once we get our money back.

I went in to find out why I can't focus and am getting headaches, not to get glasses. I kept repeating the problems I'm having and the doctor just kept "But you don't need glasses". He didn't even attempt to find out what was causing my problems, only kept saying "you don't need glasses". Like I know that, but can I get a referral or even some pretend care about the problems with my sight? I ended up leaving with zero answers, just a "come back if it gets worse" as if it being bad wasn't the reason I booked the appointment in the first place.
