Hunan Cafe

General Tao chicken was perfect. Meaty, lightly battered and tender. The sauce was the correct flavor. I also liked that it was severed with onion, carrots and green bell pepper. It came to the table piping hot. I dined in after 4 pm. I was pleasantly surprised to have gotten an actual plate, steel silverware, glass cup for my water, and a cloth napkin. Gentle music played overhead. The fried rice was excellent, as was the tender egg roll that came with the early dinner special. This is the way dining in should be.

Lovely small place with great food . We ordered Singapore noodles and Mongolian chicken . Giving 4 stars because the plain fried rice could have had more flavors

Tried out Hunan Cafe for their lunch special which it’s one of their various beef or chicken combos with either white or fried rice and an egg roll. I decided to go with the beef and vegetables. Decent size entree for a light lunch, but don’t expect a normal size for the lunch special. The beef was a bit over cooked and was tough and chewy rather than tender, but the rest of the food was hot and cooked well. Service was quick and food was received quick. Good option for a quick lunch.

The food was great, can’t wait to try more dishes. Lots of choices, almost couldn’t decide but went with Steamed dumplings and Salt & pepper calamari for our appetizers. For our entree’s, we had the Hunan Chicken and Green pepper steak w/ Lo Mein (not pictured). Both tasted great! The atmosphere was cozy and the restaurant was clean. Carmen, the server was great! Awesome personality! Definitely recommend to try this place out!

Hey, as a New York transplant who's been spoiled by Chinatown his whole life, Hunan Cafe place rivals any Asian restaurant I've been to, hands down. We're talking fresh, beautifully seasoned, Food Network level, gourmet stuff. It's a little pricier than the other lower quality fast food-y places, but it's well worth every penny! Just ate their food last night, and I don't feel homesick at all! 5 out of 5!
