Family Affairs Event center

The space is big enough for a small gathering, but the owner is hard to deal with. I do not recommend using this establishment. We were allowed to set up for a family event a day early. When the owner let us in the AC was on. He turned it off and left while we were setting up. It got up to 90 degrees in the building. If you decide to use this space, get a clear understanding of the 7 hour time frame. We were not allowed in the building until 5:00, and the event started at 6:30. It ended at 10:00. Clearly state multiple times whether or not alcohol will be served. This man scheduled a police officer to be on the premises because he felt we would be serving alcohol was being served. We were having a family reunion and never told him that we were drinking alcohol. He wanted us to pay the police officer for his mistake.

0 out of 10. If you’re in Augusta NEVER book at this place. We had a family reunion here and the owner was rude and nasty. The contract stated we had the building for 7 hours but he would not allow us to come in early to set up even though we would still be out within 7 hours. He leaves the event and you have to wait 15+ minutes for him to come back and nit pick the entire building in hopes of charging you more. If you’re in Augusta there’s much better venues to book and you should definitely look into them. Event spaces cost way too much to deal with a rude and lazy business owner.

Red flag. Very shady! My family and I booked this venue for our family reunion yesterday and he didn’t show. We booked the venue from 8am-1pm. Of course some things got behind and we communicated about being late and wanting more hours. My mom and I was suppose to decorate. We arrived at maybe 10:30 ish and the place wasn’t open. The owner communicated because of the time change and we wasn’t there he was going home to spend time with his family. We arrived there called multiple times and no answer. Literally at the last minute we found a church that could host our family reunion and everything was a success. If you’re looking for an event center in Augusta this is not the place to be. Still till this day we haven’t received a deposit nor a response from the owner.

Girl, you better off booking your event at the McDonald’s across the street. Call Ronald McDonald out and everything. By the time you’re done here, you’ll wish you did anyway.
