DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Augusta

I had really high hopes for this hotel, but it fell flat. I was impressed by the service from the front desk. They were friendly and helpful at all times. Though, I was disappointed to know that my husband had talked with an employee to set up the room a certain way to surprise me, but the employee forgot. The room was absolutely NOT worth the price. The furniture was old, strained, and sometimes broken. The room was very dark and dingy. The walls were paper thin, so I would hear everything going on in the hallway. My room had 2 doors to the hallway and one of them didn't close all the way (it was secured with a privacy lock, so it was still secure), so there was constantly light coming into the bedroom at night. Hot water in the shower was iffy - it would go cold for a few seconds and then warm up again. Just overall disappointed by my experience. If the room wasn't so expensive, I might have given 3 stars, but for $150 a night, I expect better.

Credit card fraud on my card. Charged for food before I ever checked in. Contiued to charge my card during my stay for food i did not order. Attempted to continue to charge my card after I left. Bad food. Samuel was Unresponsive when I called about my bill got rude and loud tried to bully me off the phone. Night Manager Natalia lied to me and told me the food charged to my bill before i ever checked in was for something else. needs a serious remodel. Filthy. Smelled like weed. Check your bill leave your important possessions locked in your car.

Staff have been good. Room is very outdated and needs lots of maintenance. You can see where they spray Killz on the shower ceiling. Rust stains all over the bathroom. 2nd night here and I killed 2 cockroaches. Food is underwhelming. Breakfast is over priced at $17 for buffet. They have the money to do renovations due to the massive overcharges they do for The Master Golf Tournament that occurs here evey year. They need to renovate quickly.

The Good: location was perfect for us and the staff was nice. The Bad: The absolute worst hotel I ever stayed in, in my entire life!!!!!!! The rooms were dated dark dirty and smelly! Carpet was full of stains, bathrooms weren’t fully cleaned before check in! There were cockroaches when we returned late that night and when we got up in the morning water was running from the ceiling, literally! The indoor pool had a film of dirt and hair on top and the outdoor pool didn’t smell like it had any chlorine! This location is nothing like the one in charlotte and needs to shut down for a full remodel. They need to be more uniform when it comes to refrigerators and microwaves! Never again!!!!!

Totally disappointed in the room. Really dark, needs better lighting. Very outdated bathroom with a bath tub that has been caulked many times over. The toilet was not clean, dust coming out of the A/C unit. This is the worst experience we’ve had with DoubleTree. Staff is nice & friendly though. We plan to cancel the rest of our stay.
