My visit to Design Images & Gifts in Augusta started on a positive note with a warm and polite greeting from the first two women. Intrigued by the store's impressive collection of luxurious items, perfect for gifting or home decor, my wife, a friend, and I hoped to find something special, particularly for my mother. However, our anticipation took an unexpected turn. While perusing the store, we overheard a conversation among different staff members, one mentioning a desire to "observe us" for a moment. This jarring and discomforting situation unfolded within our hearing range, casting a shadow over the initially positive atmosphere. It felt as though we were being subtly scrutinized or judged based on our appearance, age, or being an interracial couple. This unwelcome experience significantly dampened our enthusiasm. Despite being in our late twenties and having successful careers, we felt somewhat marginalized, treated as younger or less capable patrons than we are. It's disheartening when one's age or appearance influences the quality of service or treatment in a store setting, especially when considering making substantial purchases. Despite the store's appealing range of luxury pieces, the discomfort from the incident lingered. Feeling judged or potentially profiled during our visit tainted what could have been a delightful shopping experience. Sadly, this encounter overshadowed the store's potential and dissuaded us from exploring further or considering future visits.

This store has some beautiful things and the ladies that work here are so helpful! They went above and beyond to help get my gift where it needed to go since I live out of town. Will definitely be back!
