Big Mama's Soul Food

My son was in town from NJ and wanted to eat soul food on his birthday. We were surprised and embarrassed to learn about Big Mama's. I've driven past this plaza countless times on my way to VA appointments. We were glad we came here to this local minority owned small business to get some down-home cooking. My son and daughter had ox tails, and I had grilled catfish! The food was GREAT and perfectly seasoned. We arrived about 30 minutes before closing, but we're allowed to enjoy our meal in the bakery area after closing!

Admittedly, Big Mama’s was out of my comfort zone (I’m a white guy from the Pacific Northwest). But I took a chance and DoorDash food from big mamas. Everything was really good. The fried pork chops were juicy and tasted great. I also got liver and onions with fried okra and fried green tomatoes. All it was very good and not expensive. I would recommend this place, if you have the chance

They food was great. I had a 4 veggie vegetable plate and a slice of key-lime cake. The veggies were delicious except for the stewed okra, it Was too salty for my liking. This was my first time ordering take out from there, but when I’m passing through I will stop again. I ate my food, so all I have left is my dessert.🥰

I felt like i was at my grandma crib eating sunday dinner for real. The food is good, however some of the side dishes were a little under seasoned for my own taste but still very tasty. Nice portion sizes for the price. The staff seem really nice and polite. The place is cute and cozy. Will definitely try again.

Ohmylanta!!! We tried Big Mama’s today and it was AMAZING!! The food was awesome and the staff was wonderful!!!! We also took home some treats from the attached bakery! Yum!
