Barkery on Broad

I am writing to express my extreme disappointment with the grooming service my dog received at Barkery on Broad. Our first experience with this establishment was positive, and Megan, our groomer on both occasions, was very communicative and informative, clearly stating that additional charges would apply if dematting was necessary. However, our recent visit was quite the opposite. Despite explicitly requesting a teddy bear cut and for as much hair as possible to be left, our dog has been practically shaved bald. Since this cut, his behavior has drastically changed; he has become skittish, extra clingy to me and unlike his usual self. I'm starting to think she messed up on the initial cut and decided to just shave him completely down as that's the only plausible answer to him now looking like a chihuahua. When I reached out via text to voice my concerns (as the business does not answer calls "due to loud barking"), the response I received was dismissive. Megan's entire attitude was unaccountable, unprofessional, uncaring, defensive, and aggressive! I was informed that my dog had to be cut short due to matting. However, instead of contacting us to discuss this and obtain our consent, the groomer proceeded to shave him entirely. Megan then wanted to lie and say she mentioned at dropoff that he was going to cut naked; which is not true, as we would have seeked dematting services if needed and if it was a few snips would have done the job. Our dog was not majorly matted (as she states) and there was SO MUCH hair on him that could have been saved (I.e ears, head, tail) At the time of pick-up, none of these issues were communicated to us. Consequently, I requested a partial refund as the service we received was not at all what we requested. Furthermore, Megan's unsympathetic reaction to our dog's distress was unacceptable. Being told that he would "bounce back and be just fine" after a few days is not a satisfactory response to such a significant and unwanted change...

My French Bulldog Bunny loves it here! She especially loves her groomer! She’s always excited to be here and I truly love that. They do a wonderful job with grooming - especially getting in the ears which can be tough to do on my baby. They are quite knowledgeable and always communicate and offer tips for at home care. I highly recommend Barkery on Broad! You won’t be disappointed.

We've been taking our dogs here since 2020 and can't imagine going anywhere else. We were very glad the business continued when the original owner moved. They treat your pet like one of their own. I will always recommend them!

I've bought 2 bow ties for my dashound/Datsun and 2 shirts. Both were of great value.

Extremely affordable grooming and they treated my Ellie with love. Her coat is beautiful and we will be back!
