100 Black Men of Augusta

I had high hopes for 100 Black Men of Augusta, Inc., as a community organization aimed at mentoring young adults to become productive citizens. Unfortunately, my experience has been quite disappointing. While there are a few dedicated volunteers who genuinely share their knowledge and skills, the overall support provided to mentees falls short. The organization positions itself as an advocate for the community, yet when it comes to providing support outside of scheduled programs, they struggle significantly. It is often difficult to reach them for intervention or to get any follow-up regarding the mentees. This lack of communication and involvement leaves both the young adults and their parents feeling neglected. If the organization were more engaged with its mentees, I believe it would foster a stronger sense of care and commitment within the community. As it stands, the potential impact of their mission is undermined by these shortcomings. I hope that they can improve their outreach and support to truly fulfill their role as mentors and advocates.

This is a poorly organized organization. I submitted an application for my son then was sent an email to pay a mentee fee . I paid the fee and didn’t hear anything from anyone . I reached out to someone via email just for them to call me and tell me there’s no application on file , then asked how old my son was and say well he’s not old enough anyway . And of course there was no refund granted . A SCAM !
